It IS the best Canarywood you have ever seen. Nicely done.

That middle one isn't birch?

Nope. If you get the second one, I will tell you the first.

I was thinking flame birch too but I know @Konas shot it down but I can't think of another wood they use a lot in the shop that this would be that has that much activity.

Okay...Okay...I know I have been quite today. Here's some old pics back from before most of us knew each other. They may be too easy but let's see what you got.

My last guess.  Dragon fire.  If that's not a real wood name, it should be.

And the top one is Weeping Willow. I thought you didn't have a chance at that one.

Did you watch the game last night @Konas?  Whoop!  Whoop!

No, I was doing some work. Plus, I am currently going without a TV. Which I am digging a lot. Been doing it for over a year now. Have a laptop for Netflix, but that's about it. I find it very liberating.

Yeah, it was a very heavily burled piece of walnut. We didn't even special order it. It was in a regular load of lumber. Sold it in 30 seconds back when our email list was 10% of what it is now.

We've done the same. We have a TV for video games and the occasional Netflix but no actual television for over 10 years.

Damn - I missed this thread - I was going to say that definitely looked like a walnut burl.

Yeah - if that went up now, I would have snatched it immediately, even not needing an AC -- the burl in that piece is amazing.

So, if I get a board like that again I should just plane it, sand and finish it then put it up. Not even make a product out of it!😋

I am really looking forward to getting out from under the crush of the Holidays and getting some more killer versions of the species up on the in stock page. That's really my favorite part of the biz.

If it's big enough - I'd just buy some sawhorses and call it a table :)

Or just mount it to the wall as some cool decoration.

Yes that is very nice.  And I would have gone exactly with @Barb Bliss's calls on this.. my first thought was Chechen, followed by a dark Canarywood.

And I'm honestly surprised that the burled walnut was difficult.  So much walnut veneer is done like that.

And yeah - would never have gotten the willow.. even though I think @Konas had mentioned cutting the willow tree down once before I don't think I'd have put them together.
