As a beginner, I bought one of Reaper’s starter kits which includes a lot of paints, several minis and a very useful booklet which walks you through painting the miniatures, explaining various techniq

I got my rise of moloch pledge in the mail today.  When I get to at least a reasonable painting level I will absolutely be jacked about painting them.  Such fun looking minis.

this is assuming of course that I’m meant to paint.

@Zoxe fun fact there is even a kdm crossover mini.  Not sure how much of a completist you are :)

That's one that I actually don't have.  It looks really cool, but 1vMany format doesn't get much play time here, and couldn't justify backing it for one figure.  The $$ I would have put against it went towards addons in the KDM campaign (which ended a few days before Smog), specifically the KDM plastic game board.

I've played my moloch game twice.  Once the bad guy won.  Once we crushed the bad guy (after figuring out what we did wrong).

Actually FWIW they sell the figure separately so you don't have to buy the whole game. :)

Got a link to share?  I've seen it on ebay but was unwilling to pay their extortion prices.

Oh sorry my bad.  eBay I think is the only way to get it at this point.  I was just trying to tell you that you don’t have to be extorted for buying the whole game as well.

i I’ll keep an eye out though.  I got a coupon from eBay a couple weeks ago that took 20 percent off my purchase which brought down a Moloch listing to what I would pay as a backer.  Should such a situation rise again I’ll let you know :)

Poking @Anne and bumping this post.  :)

I just reread all 4 pages and I talk a lot about moving from ArmyPainter and over to Reaper, but I never actually say why.

Certain AP colors will probably ALWAYS be on my bench.  They have really good metallic colors (Gun Metal, Greedy Gold, Rough Iron).  Their washes/inks (Dark Tone Ink, Soft Tone Ink, and all the colors) are really awesome.  Their Matt black is superb.

However, I've found the "feel" of AP to be more inconsistent from color to color (some colors are super thick and some are runny) and bottle to bottle (bottles of the same color don't behave the same).  I find that Reaper is a lot more consistent and I spend less time trying to force it to do something.  AP generally comes out very thick so I'm always trying to thin it "just enough" but not too much.  With Reaper, I can squirt a dollup out of the bottle straight onto my wet palette and just start painting. If I have my palette set right, I'll pull enough moisture up and the paint is ready to go.  Recently we pulled every bottle of AP off of our benches and I've been slowing putting bottles back only if I find a use.  The vast majority are still in the box.
